The Bless Network We support Bless by encouraging and supporting our young people to go on mission to Europe, as well as monetary support. Bless (The Bless network) is a UK registered charity founded by Gerard and Chrissie Kelly, whose vision ‘was to see young people more widely exposed to the missional needs of mainland Europe’, and to use short-term missional experience as a dynamic tool in discipleship and personal growth. Participants are encouraged to bring blessing to the communities they visit but also to ask God, through their visit, to change them, so that they also bring blessing back with them. For more information please visit their website. The Filling Station We support ‘Filling Station’, by being on their rota making sandwiches for the homeless. Filling Station is a team serving sandwiches, soup, hot and cold drinks, hotdogs, and a variety of cakes and biscuits, while building relationships and just taking to the people who come along. In addition to this the team are able to hand out to each attendee a ‘care package’ which contains a variety of basic essentials, from toothbrushes to blankets, that help them get through the week. The service is supported by local homeless housing centre’s, such as Threshold Housing, who provide outreach workers that can act as a connection and valuable source of information to the support systems that exist for the homeless within Swindon. It runs from Queenstown Car Park, adjacent to the Carfax NHS Medical Centre Tuesdays and Thursdays, 7 – 8pm BMS World Mission
Rob and Gen and three year old Sam are currently in England following the birth of their second son Caleb in May. We had a lovely weekend with them at the end of January and are praying with them for God’s guidance about their future.
